Perfectly Peculiar Pixels [issue 3]

These are shortcuts to GLORY! Or at least productivity.

They say there are no shortcuts in life, but not only are there in work, your work may depend on them.

Find everything, fast, with EVERYTHING

File search for Windows that works, not just well, but instantly. #1 recommendation.

AUTOHOTKEY your way out of future RSIs

From replacing the caps lock key with an emoji, to elaborate custom, productive UIs.

I wasn’t going to stop recommending Everything even before several programmers told me it changed their life, but now I know for sure I won’t. It costs nothing, changes the paradigm of search on Windows, and makes the speed of looking up files feel like black magic. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.

Autohotkey is the simplest way to make one key on your keyboard do something else, with a stupidly simple syntax. Want to make your y key be your z key? “y::z”, done. Alarm clocks, fully customizeable interfaces, one-shortcut-key inputs of values, custom copy buffers, the list of possibilities with Autohotkey far outreaches the amount of text you’d be willing to read here, but you should give it a try!

This is what peak optimization looks like

When the above two examples stop being enough, and you inevitably run out of shortcuts on your keyboard.
This is how you compete in the job market.

Take a break with Epic’s FREE game of the week

The best thing I can say about Turmoil is that it’s graphics can serve as inspiration for something you can all most likely
draw today already.

GO OUT OUT AND JAM!

There is no substitute for experience, and after 12 weeks of studying, there’s no better way to supplement those studies than actually doing what you came to learn.
You know enough to contribute, and improve a game you’ll work on with your visuals.
So, sign up (time is limited), venture forth, and jam.
